Most school estates consist of a variety of different styles of architecture, and the selection of a suitable design in both appearance and scale is very important, and in particular not to challenge or affront the Main school building, which for many of their clients is historic or listed. They work hard to ensure that the appearance looks just right without being ostentatious, and at the same time is solid and robust enough to withstand the rigors of school life.

This business has built our reputation on their ability to minimize the cost of each building without compromising quality, and ensure that the materials selected for each element of the building fulfill several different technical functions encompassing structural, thermal, acoustic and where possible artistic criteria simultaneously.This requires awareness of current materials and labour costs, and they find clients appreciate having confidence that the building represents good value. The senior partner would like to reduce his workload in order to retire in the coming months, and is therefore making the business available for sale.

The practice is well established and positioned centrally in Southern England, to ensure that site visits may be made regularly anywhere in the Southern counties within a maximum of 2 or 3 hours drive. This is important in order to maintain and control the quality of build during the Construction phase. Over the years they have been involved to some degree or other in some 300 school projects, and believe that schools remain an exciting and constant market for their style of business, in that most Independent schools build or refurbish their infrastructure every 4 or 5 years as funds become available.
